Ch4 Cont. - distance

Sunday, October 22nd, 2006

PDF Pg 136 - Formula for distance

Distance for 1 sec = 7.5in

To get 20in of travel =

time = 20 / 7.5 in/s
        = 20in x (1s/7.5in)
        = 2.66

This equals a loop of 98
       pulses = 2.66 x 40.65 / s
                  = ~108

Found that this came up with 2 inches short.  Bot only traveled 18 inches.  Still running on the first set of batteries so that is most likly a factor.

PDF Page #145
FOR counter = 1 TO 125   ‘FWR 3 seconds - At full
  PULSOUT 13, 850
  PULSOUT 12, 650
  PAUSE 20
NEXT

FOR counter = 1 TO 21    ‘90 degree  turn to left - At Full
                                          ‘adjust servo speed to correct
  PULSOUT 13, 650
  PULSOUT 12, 650
  PAUSE 20
NEXT

FOR counter = 1 TO 21   ‘90 degree  turn to right - At Full -
                                        ‘adjust servo speed to correct

Ch4 - Navigation

Sunday, October 15th, 2006

Forward Movement:
Left Servo (P13) at full speed is slower then right.  Adjusted Right Servo (P12) to move at 680 while P13 is at 850.

Backward Movement:
Left Servo (P13) at full speed is slower then right.  Adjusted Right Servo (P12) to move at 650 while P13 is at 820.

Additional testing would be required.  Use only a 5 second run with the power coming from Vin rather then Vdd using 4 aa battery pack.

Boe-Bot CH3 - Continue

Friday, October 13th, 2006

Built worksheet for page 116.  Downloading OpenOffice to finish the graph.

Finished Ch3.  Created graph for 1 wheel only.

I am ready to start building more and move out of the baics… however next chapter maybe a long one.

Remember using formula on page 116 to calc ms from PULSOUT (PULSOUT * .000002) = Duration in ms

Servo Time loop using PULSOUT

Using ‘PAUSE 20′  take number of secons / .024 to determine loop number to operate pulsout for that number of seconds.  Ex:  5 seconds - 5 / .024 = 208

Review pg 79 - time for rotation

Boe Bot - Chapter 1

Wednesday, October 11th, 2006

After setting up forum e-mail for several parallax forums I found that my inbox quickly become flooded.  Looking for a digest option for the Forum, or I will not opt for e-mail until something better comes along to control the flood of messages…

Quick Review chapter 1.   No surprises…

Created folder for boe bot related project files.

WAM Chapter 10 - Finished

Tuesday, October 10th, 2006

Used the program_template.bs2 file.

Finished all chapers in the test “What’s a microcontroller”.  Will be moving on to the boe bot kit.

Added to the Parallax wish list online and review some of the other kits and hardware Parallax has listed on their site.  Will need to future develope my wishlist on this blog.  It will be handy when ask what I want…  To bad I can’t register for the wedding that way?  Maybe there will still be chance for that…
